about me
I was born for this. (Brace yourself, this is going to get cheesy.) I'm Amanda Althea, born into a middle name I didn't always love when I was younger but I learned to appreciate as I grew older and started seeing the beauty in unique things. Althea, as a name, comes from Greek origin, meaning "with healing power." As a wedding and events planner, a big part of my job is problem-solving when the inevitable issues arise. I jump into action and find solutions to keep everything running smoothly. So in a sense, I am there to "heal" and care for your event - and intern, for you and your guests. So naturally, when starting my business, I thought the perfect name should be a reflection of me and what I do, and that is how Althea Events was born!

After spending over 15 years in the hospitality and event planning industry, I wanted to bring joy and a true sense of hospitality to my own clients and their guests. Years of experience have given me a unique insight into venue and catering operations and the ability to anticipate your needs. I have also collected a vast network of service professionals and vendors along the way. My immense knowledge (obsession) of food, wine, and beverage helps ensure your menus are cohesive and practical.
I also hold a BFA in fine art and design, skills needed to help you envision your dream wedding and bring it all to life.
Althea Events offers a wide range of planning and design services, specializing in immersive experiences. We can honor tradition but also welcome the wackiest of ideas. No matter how capable you are, sometimes a little help goes a long way, so reach out and start your planning journey!

​I have a passion for traveling and experiencing regions through their food, beverage, and fine wines. I encourage everyone to try local delicacies and seasonal ingredients whenever possible. I also love tailoring events to include something unique from the region, a little nod to our location, like a local handy craft, tradition or color pallet.
Events can sometimes create a lot of waste so I try and think about sustainable solutions whenever possible.
